Junior Duathlon

The Junior Duathlon will commence at 10am on Saturday 14th January 2017 at park area adjacent to the Memorial Arch, Scenic Drive, Echuca.

The event will start from this park.  It is an open road event through Scenic Drive and will consist of gravel road ride and gravel path run.  All competitors must obey road rules whilst on the bike course.

–          7-10 years: 400m run, 2km bike and 400m run – $20.00.

–          11-14 years: 800m run, 5km bike and 800m run – $20.00.

The run will leave the park area and run along the track to the left of the Scenic Drive roadway to a point behind the Echuca Lawn Tennis Courts on an out and back course.

The ride will take place around Scenic Drive and again make use of the track behind the tennis courts to the left of Scenic Drive to avoid any traffic on the sharp turn behind the caravan park returning to the transition area, then returning on the same run leg as described above.

The 7-10 year old’s will complete a shorter version of this course but on the same routes with the cycle taking place behind the cenotaph monument connecting with the bitumen to a point at the end of the bitumen leading onto the Scenic drive for a turn around and back to the transition area.

Online registration and payment can be made through Active.com up to 12 January 2017 and a link will be posted here once the site is active or you can enter on the day at the Vic Park Boat Ramp.

Race day check in opens at 9am at the park area adjacent to the Memorial Arch, Scenic Drive, Echuca.

Race briefing will commence at approximately 9.45am and the first run group will start at approximately 10.00am.

A parent or guardian is required to be present with any child participating in this event.

The cycle includes portions of gravel road, therefore road bikes are not permissible.  Mountain, BMX or hybrid bikes are recommended.

Children should have their own water bottle and appropriate attire including sunscreen and a hat for the run as the weather may be quite hot.
